Introduction
The Isa, also the Isavasya Upanishad be,
It from the Yajur Veda (Vajasaneyi) truly,
It teaches of God, world essential unity,
And of being and becoming very clearly;
It not so interested in Absolute in self be,
As in the Absolute in relation to world be;
It teaches that the life in this world but be,
Not incompatible to life in Divine Spirit truly;
Who beholds all beings in Self, Self in all be,
Never turns away from the Self - its part be.

Invocation
Om !
That whole be, this whole be,
From whole, whole arises truly;
When whole taken from whole be,
What remains is whole but surely.
Om ! Peace ! Peace ! Peace !

Isavasya Upanishad
1
Om
All this covered by the Lord does be,
Whatsoever that exists on earth actually;
By such a renunciation protect self truly,
Covet not the wealth of others foolishly.
2
By doing rituals as per scriptures only,
One may live to a hundred years fully;
Thus action not binds the doer distinctly,
There is no other way than this to be free.
3
Heavenly worlds by rituals demonic be,
But enveloped by blinding darkness fully;
They who ignore the Self but wholly,
Reside in darkness after death surely.
4
Self motionless, faster than mind be,
Senses cannot reach It, It ahead be;
Static yet overtakes all running swiftly,
It is one, conducts swiftly all activities.
5
It moves; It moves not in actuality,
It is far yet is within in true reality;
It within all yet beyond the world be,
It is all pervading but undisputedly.
6
The wise perceives all in Self solely,
And the Self in all beings but wholly,
They entertains not any hatred truly,
On account of that perception surely.
7
When man realizes all beings clearly,
Are the Self and not separate do be;
No delusion is there, no grief can be,
To perceiver of this oneness actually?
8
Self all-pervading, radiant; body, sore free,
Pure, sinless, mind lord, superior, self only;
Self omniscient, aware, self-existent be,
Endowed world with nature’s power fully.
9
Who devoted to ignorant rituals sadly,
But arrive to pitch darkness certainly;
To a greater darkness they destined be,
Who devoted to meditation of Devatas be.
10
Different result attained by meditation be,
Different result by the rituals got certainly;
So have we heard from wise categorically,
Who have explained it all to us completely.
11
He who understands meditation actually,
And also comprehends the rituals fully,
Through the rituals transcends mortality,
Through meditation reaches immortality.
12
To pitch darkness go who worship truly,
The Unmanifested nature, the Prakriti;
To greater darkness go those who be,
Devoted to worldly powers completely.
13
Different indeed the result attained be,
By worship of the nature - different truly,
Different by worship worldly powers be,
So wise have stated, explained all fully.
14
Who knows worldly powers in actuality,
Comprehend the destructible clearly;
Transcends death knowing destructibility,
Worshipping nature beget immortality.
15
Face of the Truth veiled by sun does be,
Sun! Do unveil it for enlightenment truly;
To perceive the truth but wholly by me,
For I devoted to truth - its upholder be.
16
Nourisher! Controller, absorber, son of Prajapati,
Cast your rays, gather them, shine fully;
Glow your most graceful form for me,
He, the Purush, in that glow I too be.
17
Let my (pran) breath, attain immortality,
Let this body reduced to ashes but be;
O mind, remember, remember in actuality,
My karma, acts I have done but previously.
18
Fire! knower of actions, knowledge truly,
Lead us to good fruits of actions clearly;
Liberate us from our deceitful sins wholly,
We offer our words of adoration humbly.
Here ends the Isavasyopanishad,
as contained in the Sukla-Yajur-Veda.

Peace Chant
Om !
That whole be, this whole be,
From whole, whole arises truly;
When whole taken from whole be,
What remains is whole but surely.
Om ! Peace ! Peace ! Peace !

About
Mandukya Upanishad is a major Upanishad. This Upanishad “contains the epitome of the substance of the import of Vedanta.” It sets forth the Vedantin theory of consciousness: waking, dreaming, deep sleep, and the fourth state (turiya), the Self.
Invocation
Om !
Gods!
May we hear with our ears what auspicious be,
May we see with our eyes what auspicious be;
May we, offering praise to gods with our bodies,
Enjoy life, which gods pleased granted us truly;
May Indra of great fame well-disposed to us be,
May the all-knowing Pusha gracious to us be;
May Garuda, misery remover, pleased with us be,
May Brihaspati ever grant us all the prosperity.
Om ! Peace ! Peace ! Peace !

Hari Om!
1
OM, the word, the whole universe does be,
All that is past, present and future OM be;
Whatever there is, beyond threefold time truly,
That also is OM - All-encompassing OM be.
2
All this is Brahman, this Atma Brahman be,
This same Atma has four quarters but surely;
3
First is Vaisvanara, waking state activity,
Who conscious of external objects be;
With seven limbs and nineteen mouths be,
Is the experiencer of gross objects clearly.
4
Second is Taijasa, the dream state activity,
Who conscious of the internal objects be;
Who with seven limbs, nineteen mouths be,
Who the experiencer of subtle objects be.
5
That the state of deep sleep wherein truly,
Asleep no desire for object or any dream be;
The third is Prajna, the deep sleep activity,
Wherein all the experiences but unified be;
Who is a mass of consciousness verily,
Who full of bliss and experiences bliss be;
Who the door leading to the knowledge be,
Knowledge of dreaming and waking wholly.
6
He is the Lord of all, He the knower of all be,
He is the inner controller; He source of all be;
For from Him all the beings originate certainly,
In Him they all have and will disappear finally.
7
Turiya, not conscious of inner subjective world be,
Nor conscious of the outer objective world surely;
Nor that which conscious of both together but be,
Nor that which a mass of the consciousness be;
It not just consciousness, nor unconsciousness be,
It unperceived, unrelated, incomprehensible be;
It not infer-able, unthinkable and indescribable be,
Essence of Consciousness manifesting as self be;
It in three states, cessation of all phenomena be,
It is all peace, bliss and non-dual unquestionably;
This is what is known as the Fourth Turiya surely,
This is Atma and this has to be realized personally.
8
Atma with four quarters described previously,
Now is described of the syllable OM clearly;
OM, too, divided into parts of the letters be,
Same as Atma - The letters A, U and M be.
9
Vaisvanara Atma is A - the waking state activity,
The first letter of OM, on account of his all be;
Pervasiveness or of his being the first actually,
Knows this gets all desires, first among great be.
10
Taijasa Atma is U - the dream state activity,
Second letter of OM, on account of superiority;
Gets superior knowledge, treated by all equally,
Finds no one ignorant of Brahman in his family.
11
Prajna Atma is M - the very deep sleep activity,
Third letter of OM, as both the measure be;
Also, because in them all become one certainly,
Knows it measures, comprehends all within truly.
12
Fourth, Turiya without part or relationship be,
It cessation of phenomena, all good, non-dual be;
This OM is precisely the Atma unquestionably,
He who knows this - merges self in Atma surely.
